Celebration of Life - A farewell to Spencer

Last week Spencer Kimball Riddle passed away at the age of 23, after his battle with Cystic Fibrosis.
Spencer was a close friend of mine who I have known since I was 14. I met him on Star Bright World, an online place for seriously/chronically ill children to go and chat and forget about their icky illness and just chill and be "normal."
Spence was an extraordinary person, who always knew how to put smile on your face even in the toughest of times. He was so full of life and always silly. His favorite band was They Might Be Giants, which is a very silly band and if you haven't heard of them you should go listen, they are pretty fantastic.
He helped me through my parent's divorce, just letting me cry on the phone, he always knew just what to say. He also kicked my hiney when I got lax about my meds =] He was always always there for me.
He touch so many lives during his short time here on earth, I can only hope to inspire and touch half as many people as he did.
Yesterday his wife Nikki organized a worldwide release of red and purple balloons to honor his life. I got 7 balloons on which I had Kyle write some things Spence used to say..."*tackle hugs*" "you're amazing!" "love ya lots," along with til we meet again, breathe easy.
Letting go of the balloons was alot harder than I thought it would be...I asked Kyle if he was ready (to take pictures) and he replied "yes" and I just kept holding on, until finally after a couple of minutes I let go, and watched them sail away into the sun...

I love you my dear friend Spence, you will missed by many, but never forgotten <3

Angel puppy or...?

So today little miss Aurora pulled me down the stairs outside, she snuck behind and then pulled her way down I grabbed the railing but she was too strong and ended up spinning me around making me fall down the last 4-5 stairs on my back and hitting my head really hard on the ground. I started yelling HELP! Although the first couple times it came out a gargled mess lol. The neighbors came running out, and asked if I was okay, I said I don't know, and at that moment realized I was seeing double, which freaked me out I tried shutting my eyes and opening them several times to no avail. They helped me into their apt, and asked if there was anyone they could call I told them Kyle's number (good sign I remembered =]) then they helped me upstairs and I waited for Kyle to get home, once home he checked my pupils and put a bag of veggies on my head and the swelling went down within 20 min =]
No concussion AGAIN! WoOt!!! I must have a hard head =D

My little guardian angel

So the other day I blacked out and smacked my head on the kitchen tile and woke up to Aurora licking my face. Ever since then every time I'm home alone and laying down on the couch she'll get up every 30 minutes or so and give me kisses to make sure I'm okay, then goes and lays back down. I love her so much! It's good to know that she is watching over me <3

Waiting...waiting...waiting...

So we put in an offer on a beautiful townhouse earlier this week, only to find out that there's another offer on it! So we went home did some number crunching and figured out what would be our BEST offer, and we put that in.. Then yesterday we got an email from our realtor saying that we needed to sign a multiple offer agreement meaning that they were looking at both of our offers, and that we had put in our best offer. So now we wait, and wait...and wait, and hope that our offer was better. It's SO stressful..we'll know by Monday at the latest...which is only 3 days away...but I wanna know now! haha
This talk by Elder Uchtdorf is awesome and is helping alot =]

New adventures in this crazy thing we call life =]

So as most of you know Kyle and I have been looking around for a house to buy we found one that we thought would be perfect for us, but alas it got scooped up before we could even look at it! Oh well, it got us looking at townhomes, more so because its just less upkeep and they are newer! Waaay newer than any of the houses we were looking at, not to mention we can rent it out after we leave.

Kyle is going back to school!!! He decided on what he wants to do...be a lawyer. He was hoping to start school in the fall, but decided a month too late, he missed the ACT deadline by a little bit =[ But that's okay he's all signed up for the one September 9th =] So he'll be applying for the winter semester!! WoOt!! WoOt!!

FINALLY things are starting align. When Kyle goes to school he can lessen his hours at best buy and focus more on school. We won't have to keep him having full time hours so we can have insurance, because the school now offers prescription coverage, which was one of our big hang ups, because my medicine is just a tad expensive without insurance ($1000 for a month's worth)

So all in all things are finally starting to look up =]

Itsy Bitsy Spider...nightmare?

So last night at about 3am I woke up thinking there was giant spider coming down from the ceiling. I jumped over (not up, cause I didn't want to hit the spider) woke Kyle up (cause I didn't want him to get bit) went carefully around where I thought the spider was and turned on the lights and looked where I thought the spider dangling... to my surprise it was gone. So of course I told Kyle to help me find it, we lifted up the covers looking for a bit, until Kyle said, there's nothing here, come back to bed and go to sleep, so reluctantly I crawled back into bed, paranoid that the giant spider would attack any minute.

Easter treats

So for Easter this year I decided to be a little ambitious and make a cute treat. With the help of
Kyle I made these rice crispy eggs, which he dipped in chocolate and sprinkles. They were super
yummy! I was going to make half of them with white chocolate, but we ran out of time, so I will
have to try those a different day =]

Most amazing husband

So as you all know I have been really sick, which doesn't only affect me, but also affects Kyle. He has been amazing through it all. He helps me eat, helps me get dressed sometimes, helps me wash my hair, and well he helps
me with ALOT of things, simple things I used to take for granted.
He loves me sooo so much, I truley feel like I am the most luckiest girl in the world. I cannot
wait til I'm better, so I can be the best wife I can be =]
I would truley be lost without him...he has been the biggest blessing in my life. I love him so
much words cannot even say.
He does not judge me, or get frustrated withe little or big things I need help with.
He is, to put it simply, the most amazing husband ever <3

NO MORE ZINC!!!

Sooo this morning we got a call from doctor's nurse saying that they didn't want me to take the zinc anymore! So now all I have to do is take the trientine, and follow rule # 1...which won't be hard cause it doesn't make me sick woot!!!!! =D yay! I'm excited!! (just in case you couldn't tell haha)
Uhmm anyways just thought I'd share the awesome news =] that's all for now.
Oh! and also, I took my meds perfectly the past two days =] go me!

new medicine!

So yesterday was my first day of new meds. The doctor put me on a drug called trientine (syprine) I've been on it once before, when my zinc stopped working in highschool...a very scary time for me. As well as zinc accetate (galzin), again.
Two meds at the same time, not hard right? Wrong, oh so very very wrong. These two medicines are probably one of the most complicated to take together.
Rule 1: the trientine has to be taken at least an hour before I eat or two hours after I eat...nothing to drink besides water during that time.
Rule 2: the zinc has to be taken the exact same way.
Rule 3: they cannot be taken at the same time.
So here is my tentative schedule:
wake up take trientine
wait an hour
eat
wait two hours
take zinc
wait an hour
take trientine
wait an hour
eat
and repeat until I have all 3 doses taken, so no more snacking for me =[ oh well as long as it makes me better =]
the trientine doesn't make feel sick at all woo! the zinc still does though sometimes boo
oh well such is life =]
Oh aaaand the best part of all this medicine torture is...drumroll....I should be starting to see results in 3 weeks!!! Yep that's right 3 WEEKS!! WoOt!!!
Anywhos, that's all for now. =]

pet peve

So I'm really tired of people saying psychology is an easy major. And guess what? saying "no offense" doesn't stop it from being any less offensive. Because guess what? Saying it's easy when I'm failing my social psych class makes me feel like I'm some kind of idiot. And ESPECIALLY when they say well for most people it's easy, like that's supposed to make me feel better? yea..right.

I'm sorry for this rant but I'm just getting REALLY really tired of people saying my major is easy...because it's not.

Sequoyah!!!

Soo I'm really sorry about not updating for so long! It's just really difficult to type with only one hand :-S My right hand is still shaking pretty badly, and well my left hand gets pretty tired pretty quickly =(
Anywho, so what's happened since June? Well kind of a lot...
So first thing was our apartment complex said that we could now have dogs! So of course Kyle and I jumped right on that one, and began our search. Not much longer after that announcement, we found the perfect puppy...Sequoyah!

This was a picture I took of her the first time we met!
We were able to bring her home after my dads retirement ceremony =] Here are some pictures of her taken throughout the past 6 months or so:

A day at the park!
Looking for her treats hehe

What's that over there??
The only picture I was able to get of the both of us...
She kept moving hehe
One of her favorite places to sleep =]
Bonfire with Sequoyah!
Fast forward a few months...the first snow!

We love her so very much! She is like our little baby lol. She LOVES to cuddle! And follows us everywhere. She is sooo adorably soft and fluffy especially during the winter. She answers to Quoyah. David my brother in law keeps trying to get her to answer to Saki, lol not sure why, but she does every now and then. She loves her treats and dog bones..It was really funny my mother in law gave us bag of bones that her dogs didn't like, so I gave her one set the bag on the ground and hopped in the shower when I got out she had pulled ALL of the bones and had them scattered everywhere... I guess one wasn't enough lol. We also found out that she prefers straight bones not the ones with knobs on the ends is that odd? She know a few tricks as well...she sits and knows "gentle" when getting her treats she knows "down" for laying down...she sometimes knows "off" and "stay"
We know she's not perfect but she's still our little baby =]
